Root Cause Protocol: Addressing Copper and Magnesium Deficiencies for Optimal Health

The Root Cause Protocol, as described by Morley Robbins in the podcast episode, is a comprehensive approach to addressing mineral deficiencies. It particularly focuses on copper and its role in overall health. The protocol consists of different phases, including Phase Zero, Phase One, Phase Two, and Phase Three.

Cu-RE Your Fatigue The Root Cause and How To Fix It On Your Own by Morley Robbins for the Passion Struck recommended books

In Phase Zero, the protocol emphasizes the importance of stopping certain practices, such as avoiding iron-fortified foods and products with added iron, refraining from taking zinc supplements, and steering clear of fluoride in toothpaste. These recommendations are based on the understanding that excess iron, zinc, and fluoride can disrupt copper metabolism and lead to various health issues.

The protocol also highlights the significance of bioavailable copper in regulating iron and oxygen levels in the body, which is crucial for maintaining energy production and overall well-being.

According to Morley Robbins, there has been a generational decline in the availability of copper in our diets, largely due to changes in the farming system, food system, and pharmaceutical system.

In the 1930s, it was common for people to consume between four and six milligrams of copper in their daily diet. However, by the 1960s, that number had dropped to two to five milligrams, and today, the recommended daily allowance (RDA) for copper is nine-tenths of one milligram. Unfortunately, 60% of people do not even meet this minimal requirement for copper intake.

Many people are unaware of copper’s importance for health. Copper plays a crucial role in various biochemical reactions in the body, including the regulation of iron levels, immunity, and oxidative stress management. Morley emphasizes the importance of addressing nutrient deficiencies, such as copper, for holistic wellness.

Morley’s insights shed light on the transformative power of the Root Cause Protocol, which aims to address the underlying causes of fatigue and metabolic syndrome. By understanding the role of copper in our health and implementing practical solutions to increase copper intake, individuals can reclaim their vitality and improve their overall well-being.

The Root Cause Protocol aims to restore balance and optimize health by addressing the underlying causes of various health conditions related to mineral imbalances by addressing mineral deficiencies, particularly copper.
