From Us and Them to All of Us: Joshua Greene & Rick Hanson

From Us and Them to All of Us

A Live Conversation on Expanding the Circle of Moral Concernwith Rick Hanson and Joshua Greene

Wednesday, December 10th from 3-4pm ET

Why This Event Matters

Our world is divided in ways we can see and in ways we can feel. Us versus them. My group versus yours. This conversation brings together three leading voices to explore how we widen the moral circle, so that instead of pulling apart, we expand toward compassion, cooperation, and shared humanity.

This live event supports Pods Fight Poverty, a joint initiative with Laurie Santos, The Happiness Lab, Giving Multiplier, and GiveDirectly.

The goal is clear and urgent:
Raise 1 million dollars to send 1100 dollars in direct cash assistance to every family in three villages with over 700 families in Rwanda.
When people are given the freedom to choose what they need most, they change their lives and their communities in ways no outside program can replicate. This event is part of that mission.

Giving Multiplier is boosting donations with a 50% match for first-time donors

Why We Are Doing This

Your favorite podcasters, including Jay Shetty, Michael Lewis, Dan Harris, Laurie Santos, Alie Ward, Katy Milkman, Adam Grant, and many more are teaming up to lift three entire Rwandan villages out of extreme poverty.

Every 100 dollars donated becomes 150 dollars while matching funds last. That impact becomes real for families who currently live on 1 to 2 dollars a day.

  • Direct cash works because:
  • It boosts local economies by 2.5x
  • It dramatically reduces infant mortality
  • It increases food security more than traditional nutrition programs
  • It gives people dignity, flexibility, and real choice
